Chapter 1
Meet Beetly.
There was a beautiful bug living in Beetly, a beetle town. She had a beautiful red coat on her body called elytra. She looked even more beautiful with black spots on her elytra. The name of the bug was Ladybug.
Chapter 2
Meet Weevil.
Ladybug had a neighbor named Weevil.
She was a small beetle with six legs and two wings just like Ladybug, but she had a long snout.
Chapter 3
Not Friends.
Weevil did not like Ladybug because she always tried to punish Weevil by trying to eat her away for harming seeds and grains in fields.
Weevil loved to stay inside seeds and usually peeped out with her long snout to wave other beetles other than Ladybug.
Chapter 4
A New Visitor.
Once weevil saw a big grouchy looking beetle with too large antennae in Beetly town. He was of brown colour with orange dots on his back. He had made his home inside a big mango tree stem. He was actually a mango stem borer.
Chapter 5
A Bit Scared.
Weevil got scared of his big size and hid herself inside the seed. Then Weevil saw a round shadow of Ladybug.
She got even more scared and hid herself deep into the seed.
Chapter 6
Pecked by a Stranger.
Ladybug was roaming around her garden in search of insects like, aphids, mites, mealybugs, leafhoppers, etc. to eat. However, it was not a lucky day for her.
Ladybug felt sad and sat under the mango tree of her garden when somebody pecked her. She turned back to see what was that but that thing quickly hid itself somewhere inside the mango tree. This happened several times, and Ladybug was then troubled.
Chapter 7
Ladybug’s Song.
Ladybug started singing:
Oh! Somebody is disturbing me,
It’s not been a lucky day for me.
I am hungry, hungry and hungry,
With no yummy aphids to eat in plenty;
It seems a big mango stem borer is hitting me;
I would teach him a lesson without any fee.
Chapter 8
A Moon Cactus.
While Ladybug was singing, she saw spiny red flower of a moon cactus plant. She immediately picked up the fallen red flower and wore it on her back. The mango stem borer peeped out of the stem and felt happy to have a strange yet beautiful creature to poke at but he did not take heed of the spikes on its body
Chapter 6
Pain.
So, when the mango stem borer poked Ladybug, he felt a sharp pain on his long legs.
He started screaming in pain and hid himself inside the trunk of the tree.
Chapter 4
The Beetles’ Song.
All the beetles came out of their home and started singing together:
Stemborer should feel sorry for his misdeed,
For he has troubled a bug indeed; Quickly he came out screaming in pain,
And said sorry to Ladybug again and again;
He vowed not to tease anybody in future;
For he can’t bear in future any suture!.
