Chapter 1
A Pretty Butterfly.
In a jungle far, far away, a beautiful butterfly laid a hundred little eggs. She was eager to see them turn into beautiful tiny butterflies like herself, but she was disappointed when the eggs hatched into tiny worm-like insects. None of them had pretty wings or a long proboscis.
Chapter 2
Caterpillars ???
The butterfly waited and waited, hoping to see a change, but nothing happened. Day after day, the caterpillars just kept crawling on their six legs, chewing on leaves all day. This made the butterfly both angry and sad. She was tired of waiting and decided to leave the caterpillars to live on their own.
Chapter 3
A Silk House.
The caterpillars realized that their mother was sad. They decided to change themselves to bring their mother back. They covered themselves with silk and built tiny houses of their own. These houses, or chrysalises as the caterpillars liked to call them, helped them grow wings and turn their mouthparts into a nice, long proboscis.
Chapter 4
Wings.
Once they had all transformed, they decided to leave their chrysalises behind and come out into the open. They tried to fly, but their wings were still very soft and weak. The newly formed butterflies blamed themselves for their weak wings, thinking that they had done something wrong during their metamorphosis.
Chapter 5
More Pretty Butterflies.
The mother butterfly, who had flown away from the caterpillars, also started to feel bad about leaving her children alone. She decided to return to the jungle to look after her kids. To her pleasant surprise, she found that her baby caterpillars had turned into beautiful butterflies. The new butterflies were just as delighted to see that their mother had come back for them.
Chapter 6
Learn to Fly.
The butterflies told their mother about how they had been struggling to fly. The mother butterfly asked her children to be patient. She asked them to stretch their wings and let them grow stronger before trying to fly. The children followed her advice, and soon, their wings grew strong enough for them to flap and fly around. The mother butterfly and her children then lived happily in the jungle, flying from one flower to another.
The End.
